Elizabeth Odom has been an important virtual partner on the KD/PR, A Virtual PR Firm team. She began her “virtual” career with Kathy in the true sense of the word – they met over the Internet! Kathy received an email from Elizabeth in the spring of 2005 querying the professional opportunities and business climate in the Anchorage area. Shortly thereafter, Elizabeth landed work with KD/PR while still living in Virginia. She finally moved to Alaska the following June.

It was a perfect professional match. In 2006, Kathy and Elizabeth successfully co-coordinated the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Citywide Cleanup and Elizabeth continues to perform a variety of PR counsel, event planning and copywriting duties for KD/PR clients.

Some of Elizabeth’s special talents include PR strategy and copywriting. She also has been the organizer and “designer” behind several special events KD/PR has coordinated. Elizabeth began her career with Ziff Davis Publishing Co. in Silicon Valley, followed by several years in the newsroom and sales force at Business Wire in San Francisco and Seattle. In the late 1990's she worked as a freelance writer; joined a network security company as their PR counsel; and then opened her own high-tech PR firm just outside Seattle. She has also lived overseas in several different countries and rang in Y2K in London working for two major PR and advertising agencies focusing on global high-tech PR.

In addition to her professional life, Elizabeth is a military spouse and takes her volunteer responsibilities very seriously. She is a Fort Richardson community mayor and is especially active in supporting and guiding her husband’s Family Support Group (FRG) consisting of over 200 families. Elizabeth is married to Lieutenant Colonel Mark Odom, who is currently deployed in Iraq. They have one daughter, Kate, who is in 1st grade at Ursa Minor. She holds a bachelor’s degree (1989) in English/Creative Writing from Colby College in Waterville, Me.
