KD/PR owner Kathy Day has seen the positive affects a positive adult in a young person's life can have. For that reason, Kathy has donated countless hours to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Anchorage program. She has been a Big Sister to two Anchorage girls and was named "Sisters of the Year," for her Match with Alicia in 1998.
Over the last few years, Kathy has volunteered to mentor several young women pursuing careers in public relations or related fields. These mentor relationships came about either formally, through PRSA's UAA mentor program, or when Kathy has worked with interns or on special projects with young people.
"I believe it's critical to give back and to share my knowledge with other women, so they too, can be successful. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing the young women who I have influenced receive a promotion, obtain a new goal or land that prestigious job."
Doing A Good Job and Being There For My Family
KD/PR's business philosophy is a simple one. Give excellent client service at a reasonable price. Promise only what you can deliver, and have fun doing it.
"I feel lucky every day that KD/PR has allowed me to grow professionally, but still keep what is most important in perspective. My sons, Trevor (6) and AJ (3) and my husband Paul are the most important things in my life. It's a blessing that I can make a living doing what I love, and still make family an uncompromised priority."
